Practice

Practice slowing down as you speak with someone else:

  • Let your voice and your attention move more slowly than usual.
  • Take small, thoughtful pauses as you speak.
  • Notice how it feels in your body when you slow down.
  • Before saying what you want to say, start by summarizing what the other person said.

Reflecting

If you feel unsure, that is part of the experience of exploring something new. There is no “right way” to do this practice. What matters is curiosity and willingness to notice what happens.
