What have you learned?
This is session # 5 of 5 of Focusing: The Gentle Power of Deep Listening.
This final session is for you to take stock of how your Focusing practice has begun to shape up. You’ll watch a brief video summarizing key ideas, then take time to notice what you’ve learned — about Focusing, and about yourself — as you practiced.
Video (6 min)
Practice
Do the following on your own, or in a conversation with a partner.
Take a few deep breaths and bring to mind a moment from your Focusing practice that stood out — whether it was clarity, confusion, hesitation, a bodily sensation, or something unexpected.
Gently let a memory or sense of that experience arise, and notice what comes up. Then answer:
– What did you notice about how you listen inside yourself?
– What did you notice about how you relate to your experience?
A 5-minute summary
Use the following video as a way to refresh your sense of the process — either now to consolidate what you’ve learned, or later if you want to return to these ideas.
The above video was created in collaboration with Beatrice Blake.
